Denton West Working Mans Club Manchester
We were initially asked to come over and visit Denton West Working Men's Club on a system support issue. The social club included two communal bar lounge areas and a large function hall. During our initial consultation with the clubs chairperson, we discovered that most of the speakers in the bar areas had not worked for years and the speakers that were working were not providing a high enough quality of sound. He also had aspirations to utilise the function hall as an event venue for live music, dj based events and as a venue for weddings and private party's. On initial inspection of the system it was clear that the installation was over 15 years old and soon became apparent that the best direction was to install a completely new solution.
We created 3 zones. Zoning enables each area of the venue to play from separate music sources, which can also be independently volume controlled. The solution also enabled one source of music to be shared through two or all of the zones. We opted for four of our wall mounted 8'' full range speakers for the two lounge areas powered by a QSC 1450 amplifier. We included a DBX 166XL Compressor limiter to ensure that the volume levels could be set and locked, so that no matter how high the source control was turned up, it would not be possible to go beyond a predetermined decibel level.
In the main function suite we included a front of house system based around our TFR 1201 Mid High speakers and sub bass provided by our RF 215 units. The system also included a Blacka Acoustics DJ unit comprising of two technics SL1210's - 2 Pioneer CDJ 1000'S and Allen and Heath Xone 62 Mixer incased in a Blacka Acoustics protective flight case. The system was powered by 2 QSC RMX 2450 Amplifiers.
We then set about creating a live music solution which included 4 x FRW Stage Wedge Monitors. 2 x QSC RMX 2450 Amplifiers - 1x 234XL Stereo 2-Way Mono 3-Way Crossover. 1 x DBX 166XL 2 Channel Compressor Limiter with Noise Gate. 1 x BSS Opal Equaliser. Allen & Heath Mix Wizard 316:2 Mixing Console. 1 x Sennheiser Radio Mic. 2 x AKG C1000. 1 X AKG D112. 2 x Shure SM58 Beta and 1 x Shure SM57 Beta.
The system was installed over three days and was then successfully tested. The system far surpassed the clients expectations and most importantly now enables the club to move forward with all of their aspirations.
